Psychotherapy is a sacred space for growth and healing where old wounds, difficult emotions and negative self-images can be aerated and transformed; where the spark of personal power and creativity can be sheltered from the wind and allowed to flame.
There are times when we need to be seen and heard deeply, consistently and compassionately. When another can sit open-heartedly with us in our anxiety, despair, and even joy we develop more capacity to honor and accept ourselves just as we are. I strive to offer my clients understanding, compassion and wise acceptance along with practical tools for working with the challenges of our often complicated lives and difficult emotions.
Through this work, I have been honored to witness many clients develop more satisfying relationships both to themselves and to others, more choice in response to life's inevitable difficulties, more power to shape their own lives, and a more easeful connection to creativity and meaning.
I have extensive experience counseling individuals, parents, children and families. Areas of expertise include anxiety, depression, childhood trauma and abuse, grief and loss, challenging relationships, work/life issues and transitions, creative expression and personal/spiritual growth.
